To the Linnean Society of London   10 January 1881

10 Jan 1881

We have the honor to recommend Mr. S. H. Wintle of George Bay (Tasm.) as a fellow of the Linnéan Society, to which distinction he has some claim by his entomologic and paleontologic researches in Tasmania, carried on for many years

Ferd. von Mueller, M.D., F.L.S.1

William Woolls Ph.D., F.L.S.

Samuel Wilson F.L.S., F.R.G.S2

M autograph manuscript and signature, other supporters' individual signatures.
M and Woolls were two of the supporters when Wintle was elected in the previous year, see M to Linnean Society of London, January 1880 (in this edition as 80-01-00c). It is not known why a second nomination was submitted. An undated obligation form (agreeing to pay the fees while a Fellow) signed by Wintle is filed with this letter and the 1880 form.
