My Dear Sir,

I had the pleasure of writing to you on the 12th. [1 word illeg.], with Prof[essor]. [1 word illeg.] notes regarding the Bermuda Lizard..

As to the Insects I wrote to Mr Jones, and can now quote from his reply, — "I cannot say with certainty as to the Myrmeleon (Ant lion) found in Bermuda, Dr. Angen considered it new, but would not undertake to decide.

With respect to the Coleoptera, Lepidoptera, Hymenoptera, Diptera and Neuroptera, I do not believe a single species can be claimed as Bermudian.

I have done some work on my book[?] of West Indian[?] land shells, and may soon forward to you a little abstract, shewing [sic] the generic distribution.

Pray at all times commend my services.

I am | My Dear Sir | faithfully yours | Dr. [1 word illeg.] Bland [signature]
