Dear Sir

Can you oblige me with a list of the Land Shells of the Bermudas Islands? I have your list of 1861 — and also a short list by D^r. Tristram² — in the Proc[eedings of the] Zool[ogical] Soc[iety]³ for 1861 containing 6 or 7 not in your list and I dare say others have since been discovered. If you could oblige me, adding to each species whether it is peculiar to the Islands, or if found elsewhere (stating where generally) you will greatly oblige me.

I am preparing a book mainly on the peculiarity of insular faunas, and as the land shells of Bermuda appear to be the only group in which there are any [2] peculiar species, they become especially interesting.
