Dear Mr Franck,

Here is a note from Wallace. He won’t come. I think you might get Mr. Poulton of Oxford1. But perhaps you can think of some one more [2] eminent. Perhaps Sir John Lubbock.2 But [three words illegible] I see you.

/ I think the Bishop Sor.[?] might arrange in the summer an excursion to Kew there is matter there for geologists as well as botanists and also one to the [illegible] . I [3] should be glad to help to explain things at the [illegible] & Mr. Beddard would no doubt join us. We could do an afternoon there from 2 to 6.

// How is that student’s association going on? I think you should get the President of the College to be its President and to help [4] you in organising it. He is an old student of the College and with his help the association would gain weight & dignity.

Yours very truly | Ray Lankester [signature]

Poulton, Edward Bagnall (1856-1943). British Entomologist.
