Sarah Faraday to Thomas Henry Farrer   31 July 1866

Hampton Court Green | 31st July 1866

Dear Sir

Your second letter1 addressed to Mr. Faraday arrived this morning and as his state of health renders him unable at present to take your proposition into consideration, I venture to answer it & to say that we shall feel glad to let the matter stand over until Dr. Tyndalls return from Switzerland, he was so kind & ready with his help, that I think with you, that it is due to him to wait for his return - It was in consequence of Mr. Faradays feeling uneasy at keeping the position, that his last letter was sent2, & he much regretted that it had not been done some months earlier.

The warm regard you have always shewn to my dear husband makes me feel that I am writing to a friend who sympathizes with me in the grief I am in at his present low state - -

With many thanks dear Sir for your kind thought I am | Yours very sincerely | S. Faraday

T.H. Farrer Esqre
